I have this theory which seems to bear out no matter where I travel to in the UK…..

When I was a child I used to throw pennies into wishing wells and make a wish. As I grew up I noticed the security protecting the coins getting stronger (however, I digress).

What I have noticed now for a number of years is that any expanse of water contained in a public place becomes a public wishing well. You may notice that all of these places have coins thrown into them. These include water features in shopping centres as well as water fountains outside.

What happened to the good old wishing well and why do people find an urge to thrown money anywhere where there is water?

Limitations in the characters that can be used in a URL can make for some interesting interpretations of website names. I can’t believe that the people who came up with these actual real website names didn’t spot their obvious ‘faux pas’.

Whilst on a training course this week, someone showed me a clip of a guy called Johan Lipowitz (David Armand) performing “Karaoke for the Deaf” to Natalie Imbruglia’s Torn.

This week i’ve had the pleasure of getting a long overdue week off work and taking my family to Disneyland in Paris. Other than the rain on the first day, we had a great time and the weather for the remaining days was nothing short of ’summer’.

However, whilst there I spotted the most blatant exhibition of Identity fraud that I have ever seen. I spotted several different people (see captured mugshot below), all looking the same, although trying to disguise themselves behind different outfits signing the same signature, identically every time.

Don’t be fooled by the smiling face, be warned, you need to be aware that they are trying to pass themselves off as a person going by the name of “Mickey”. However, also note that he has a female accomplice who goes by the name of “Minnie”. Still the same cute smile, but don’t be fooled. They prey on unsuspecting kids, stupidly expecting them not to notice. However, it didn’t fool my 5 year old

I have been a fairly regular commuter to and from London over the past 4 months. On the train you can always tell the regular commuters. For the first 20 minutes of the journey from London Kings Cross, none of the regular travellers even attempt to use their phones as it is tunnel after tunnel and a constant roller coaster of a signal.

On the flip side to this, you can always tell the non-regular travellers by their “Hello, can you hear me” and “Sorry about that we hit a tunnel……….Hello, can you hear me  (as the second tunnel appears)”.

However, I heard a great comment from a women on the train on Friday. She was clearly trying to talk to a friend on the other end but had a bad signal (again, due to the tunnels). However, after nearly losing the call once, referring to the poor signal, she exclaimed:

“It must be your end, i’m not moving”.

Maybe she wasn’t moving in her seat but doesn’t she think the 125MPH that the train was traveling has any effect.

People never fail to amaze me!!
